The days seem to pass so quickly here. There is just always so much to do. Jess and I have started to realize that we cannot plan on getting anything done other than taking care of the kids throughout the day.. or we will inevitably fall short and feel frustrated. It gets very difficult when you have no free hands.. you're just sitting there with a baby (or two) and all you can do is helplessly think about what you need to get done. Don't get me wrong, it is extremely rewarding, it just makes you a little crazy in your head sometimes. Poor TJ. He comes home to two crazy women, two rowdy little girls and two needy baby boys. Cadence and Clara have started to help out more with the boys. They always want to help feed them.. which is sometimes nice.. and sometimes makes it a little more difficult.. but always really sweet to watch. Last night Cadence saw all the bottles Jess was taking upstairs to bed and she asked her what they were for. Jess told her that she has to wake up in the middle of the night to feed the boys and Cadence said, "Mama.. you can wake me up and I'll do it so you can sleep." Melt my heart.
This house is always so busy.. it makes going anywhere feel like a break. Yesterday I went to the dentist, and felt guilty about the mini vaca I got. Grocery shopping is definitely a coveted chore. TJ has volunteered to do a lot of 'helpful' things outside of the house lately. We are onto you, TJ. It can definitely be stressful here, but I don't have to be gone long before I want to be back because I miss the kids. I really love being here, and being so close to the people I love.
I've been calling Cason "Case-man" and Calon "Cal-boy" ..which sounds like cowboy, and I like that. We have started to notice that some people are pronouncing Calon as 'Cay-lon' which is an understandable mistake. We actually changed the spelling of Calon to try to avoid that. We initially had it spelled 'Calen' but thought that people would pronounce it with a long A because of the E. So we decided to spell it like talon (an eagle's talon) with a C. Calon. So if you hear someone say it wrong.. go ahead and correct them.
Side note - TJ just asked to claim me as a 5th child on next year's taxes. I think that's fair.
