This morning I was home with the girls. Jess asked if I could help them make Valentine's Day boxes for their Aunt Tara's Valentine's Day party on Friday. So... when I do crafts, I just kind of go... there isn't a whole lot of planning involved. (This is the complete opposite of TJ. With TJ, everything needs a plan. This turns the simplest things into something strategic.)
I asked the girls what they wanted their Valentine's Day box to be. Cadence wants a princess crown and a heart. Clara wanted a puppy. We started with Clara's. I really thought I was doing a fantastic job. We made the dog's mouth the slot for the cards to go in. After being nearly finished, I realized I did not make a place to get the cards out. The only place that I could successfully open without ruining the whole thing... was the dog's butt. So that's Clara's V-Day box.
Cadence's will be finished tomorrow. We have to let part of it dry today since she found it completely necessary to use piles of glue sprinkled with glitter. Side note - glitter is my least favorite craft item ever. I will be finding glitter for weeks. Guaranteed.
We also made cards for their cousins. I ask them what they think is special about each cousin, and then I write it down for them. Again, Cadence and Clara are so different.
Cadence: Micah, you are special because we play nicely together.
Clara: Mason, you are special because you play fighting balloons with me.
I have no idea what fighting balloons is, but I imagine it's exactly what is sounds like.
