Those of you that know my husband,TJ, know that he is a man of many talents. A few of his many talents include: construction (building anything and everything), DJing, photography, video, real estate, design, barber, etc.. The list goes on and on.
TJ likes to be in control of everything.. I think this is why he taught himself to do everything. I am seriously the perfect woman for him. I am fine with him having control because in return he takes care of EVERYTHING. For example, TJ's toolbox of talents includes party planning. TJ does not know how to have a 'simple' party. I'm fairly certain he takes after his mother as I recall a story about TJ's graduation party and roughly 80 left over baked potatoes.
We host Thanksgiving every year at our house for my side of the family. We decided to make it simple this year. At least I thought it was a mutual decision. I had a simple menu, simple plan, no fuss. I should have known.. We decided to set tables up in the garage so that everybody could eat together. TJ built the centerpiece pictured above. Yes, you are seeing it right. Four huge windows (from his construction job), many skewered pumpkins and strung Christmas lights. Then comes the food. I did my grocery shopping last week. I had everything I needed except one thing. I sent TJ to Walmart for my potatoes tonight.... $100 later, we had an entire new menu. On a typical party of ours we will have left overs for a week... and not just regular left overs... I mean left overs for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.. for a week.
Just wait until you see what he is planning for the twins' 1st birthday party. Lets just say that I would not call it a carnival theme.. I would call it an actual carnival (bounce house, cotton candy, hot dog machine, popcorn machine, balloon twister, etc). No joke.
You know, I laugh about some of the things my husband does, but in reality I feel like I am truly one of the most blessed woman in this world. I have a husband that is very passionate about a lot of things, namely God and his family. He takes care of us. He takes care of everything.
