I mentioned before how thorough TJ is with everything. So much so.. that I feel comfortable saying that the 'Cardinal Rule' for us is: Always be overly prepared. This was definitely the case when TJ & I were setting up for the "Spa-liday" event that we recently attended at Chaffee Chiropractic Clinic. The event began at 5:30 p.m. TJ insisted we go setup at 10:00 a.m.
Thursday morning TJ went to the studio really early to load up props and decorations for our booth setup. When he walked in the house around 9:00 a.m. he looked at me and said, "..so I may have went a little overboard.."... Now when TJ says this... you know it is going to be ridiculous, because TJ's 'normal' is ridiculous to a regular person. Always be overly prepared. TJ had the van full of props (including a 50 gallon wooden barrel from the studio) from bottom to top, back to front. I am surprised he saved a place for me to sit (also surprised nobody passing the studio called the cops assuming it had been robbed).
We only ended up using maayyybe a third of the items he brought, and our setup was pretty elaborate.. it included five curtains, a backdrop, camera, lighting, television, a large wooden box, trees (yes, trees) and other acceptable decorations. What didn't make the cut? A large area rug, the 50 gallon wooden barrel, suit cases, large lighting system, small children posing in a basket (ok that last one wasn't real..but you get the idea) and many other odds and ends.
We setup in the morning, and then went back at 5:00 p.m. to prepare again. The event was a lot of fun. TJ really enjoyed himself, and couldn't stop talking about it on the way home.. which would sound really funny to anyone at the event since he did not talk very much at all. He actually called me in a panic when I went to get a cup of water because he didn't want to be left alone and end up talking to someone by himself. He gets nervous. It's hilarious. I kept stepping away just to make him uncomfortable.
We had a drawing at our booth for a free mini session in our studio. There were over 50 entries. Cadence & Clara chose a winner today... and the winner iiiisssssss...... KAREN SCHOOLCRAFT! Congratulations! We look forward to spending time with you & capturing some special moments in our studio!
We would like to say a special 'thank you' to Mandi Waitkunas and Chaffee Chiropractic Clinic for hosting such a wonderful event! The "Spa-liday" was very well organized and enjoyable!
